About the job
BA Wind is responsible for the development, construction and operation of wind power onshore and offshore as well as other non-hydro renewable activities like solar and batteries. We manage the maintenance, operation and continuous improvement of wind generation assets, safely and with the highest levels of availability and profitability. We also perform the structuring and execution of project partnerships in accordance with overall wind strategy.
The Environmental and Sustainability unit (EnSu) within BA Wind is a centralized unit supporting our business activities across onshore, offshore, solar, batteries & hydrogen with the aim of lifting sustainability into every aspect of our business and facilitating co-existence of renewable energy development with society and a rich natural environment.

We are looking for an Environment & Sustainability Specialist to join our Environment and Sustainability Unit to support our Onshore Wind, and large-scale Solar & Battery projects in sustainability strategy development and operational implementation.
In this role, you will combine sustainability strategy development for our Onshore Wind and Solar & Batteries Business Units with practical support on sustainability risks & opportunities assessments and operational implementation of innovations and technologies in our Onshore Wind and Solar & Batteries projects. You will focus on the following topics: greenhouse gas emission reduction, sustainable resource use, and sustainable procurement.
As Environment & Sustainability Specialist, you will have the following main tasks and responsibilities focusing on Onshore Wind and Solar & Batteries:

In close collaboration with the business develop and implement sustainability strategy e.g., through KPI & target development and progress monitoring;

Provide sustainability advice to the business on a variety of topics, for example on circularity of solar panels, rare earth elements, and decarbonization in the supply chain;

Facilitate operational development & implementation of cost efficient and sustainable solutions in close collaboration with the Onshore Wind team as well as Solar & Batteries team contributing to our targets and ambitions

Conduct and review environmental risk asessments and integrate appropriate mitigation during technology development

Provide support in sustainability award criteria development for procurement tenders with a focus on Onshore wind, Solar & Batteries and drive supplier interactions with regards to environment and sustainability during contracting and strategic supplier collaboration

Build up knowledge on relevant sustainability topics, and serve as a Centre of Excellence;

Initiate, drive and coordinate environmental and sustainability initiatives in collaboration with key stakeholders

Your profile
You as a person - You have a true passion for environmental and sustainability topics. You are motivated to make an impact and are solution-oriented. Your personality will most likely be described as self-motivated, result-driven, structured and you have the ability to prioritize and plan realistically. You also have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Your qualifications and personal skills as Environment & Sustainability Specialist:

Holds an MSc degree in the field of Sustainability, Environmental Engineering or similar;

Has experience with sustainable procurement, Life Cycle Assessment, or circular economy,
-
Operational experience in the wind, solar and/or batteries sector;

Has strong analytical skills combined with the ability to communicate complex information in an easy to understand way;

Proven success with implementing new solutions and moving initiatives forward in complex organizations

Is pro-active, innovative, and a team-player;
-
Excellent communication skills and well-versed in communicating in oral and written English; a second language such as Dutch, German, Swedish or Danish would be valuable.

Excellent inter-personal skills, being energized by engaging in a multi-disciplinary and international organization with a broad range of co-workers spread over multiple locations

Strong project management skills (meet deadlines and prioritise tasks)
